7.7 earthquake strikes southern Indonesia


A powerful earthquake measuring 7.7 on the Richter scale has hit southern Indonesia. A tsunami warning has been issued, however there are no current reports of casualties or damage. The USGS have reported the earthquake to have struck around the Gorontalo area of the Sulawesi island [1.275N, 122.103E] at a depth of 10km.
