The first result in the US election has been declared. In Dixville Notch, New Hampshire, the vote was 15-6 in favour of the Illinois senator Barack Obama over Republican John McCain, the senator from Arizona. Obama is the first Democrat to win there since 1968. In Hart's Location, another early-voting New Hampshire area, Obama got 17 votes to 10 for McCain and two write-in votes for U.S. Ron Paul, R-Texas [CNN / BBC / Xinhua].

Due to increased amount of spamming, comments may no longer be left. Despite requesting that comments be relevant to the article and informing readers that spam, advertising and comments containing links WOULD NOT BE POSTED, spammers still attempted to post such content. Apologies, but the spammers, trolls and bots have spoilt the party for everyone.
